The progress color just keeps moving across the bar and the status reads 0 kb of 0 forever. I tried to use the Update Troubleshooter with no luck. The result is a perpetual "checking for updates online. I should note my husband inadvertently loaded Windows 10 on this machine awhile ago.

Look Windows Update ,and right click it. Press OK and close Services window. Check the System Configuration Type msconfig in the search option. In System Configuration window, go to Services tab. Locate Windows Update and uncheck the box to prevent this to start. Click OK to finish. Click Restart to apply changes. Let us know how it goes.
